Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital issued a trespass warning against former Brevard County Commissioner John Tobia this month, after alleging he misrepresented himself to gain access to the hospital on two separate occasions since January.

The warning, which has been circulated widely, claims that Tobia entered the facility on New Year’s Day as an EMT student completing clinical requirements, but later re-entered on January 8, presenting himself as a physician's intern.

Hospital security states that both of Tobia’s representations were fraudulent and warns he should be trespassed if he attempts to enter again.

In response, Tobia, who claims to be enrolled in an EMT program with Orlando Medical Institute, says he was simply following through on an assignment given by his school, which he provided documentation for.

He denies the allegations of misrepresentation and stated that the hospital had not contacted him about the warning.

Despite the warning, no police records confirm any trespass orders.

Orlando Health has confirmed the investigation but did not provide further details.

Tobia’s lawyer, Bryan Lober, questioned the authenticity of the document, citing a discrepancy in the date and calling for further verification.

This incident follows a controversy in which Tobia resigned from his teaching position at Valencia College after an ethics investigation found that he used county staff for personal work during his tenure.

The investigation into the trespassing issue is ongoing.
